FAQs About Excellent Dental Health

Maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile is an ongoing effort. Yet, the more you put into daily hygiene and preventative measures, the easier it becomes to maintain your smile. Our goal is to be a partner in your dental health care, and in addition to the high level of service we provide, that also includes offering quality education on your dental hygiene and health care.

Preventative exams and cleanings are essential to a good dental health routine, and most patients should schedule visits at least twice a year. Combined with a continuously good dental hygiene routine at home, biannual visits to your dentist help you avoid the development of dental issues that could require you to visit your dentist’s office more frequently.

As a family dental practice, we encourage you to bring your children with you to your dentist’s office! Young children especially benefit from such visits because they can help them grow more comfortable and accustomed to the dental office setting. Once your child reaches the age that regular exams and cleanings become necessary, you can schedule your visits on the same day for optimal convenience.

If you have more than one child, then scheduling their routine dental checkups and cleanings can save a significant amount of time and energy. Therefore, we encourage families to make their routine dental visits a family affair by scheduling their appointments together.

In addition to regular preventive care, many patients occasionally require a quick cosmetic touchup to erase teeth stains and restore their smile’s bright appearance. To help you regain your smile’s confidence quickly and comfortably, we offer custom teeth-whitening and other conservative cosmetic dentistry options tailored to your specific concerns.

Dental health care shouldn’t be forced upon you, but rather be a collaborative effort between you and our team. If you need to undergo cosmetic or restorative treatment, then our team will work closely with you to design a treatment plan according to your specific needs and preferences.

When designing your treatment plan, Dr. Lerner will thoroughly explain the benefits and compromises of every choice, including the material you choose for a filling, crown, or other restoration. The more you know, the better prepared you’ll be to make an informed decision about the material of your restoration.

We understand that some dental issues are best treated by an oral health specialist, such as an endodontist or oral surgeon. Therefore, Dr. Lerner’s staff works closely with several trusted and highly distinguished dental specialists in the Manhattan, NY area. We only refer patients to specialists that we trust, and whom we know maintains the same standard of excellence as our office.

Our goal is to help ensure that all patients in our community can receive the high-quality dental care they deserve, so we’ve joined Doctors Network to provide our patients with significant discounts on their dental health care. If you don’t have dental insurance, then ask Dr. Lerner about joining Doctors Network to make your family’s dental treatment significantly more affordable.

With a direct dental plan from Dr. Lerner and Doctors Network, you can rest assured that all of your preventative visits and dental treatments will be covered. Unlike insurance, the plan does not differentiate between what types of treatments are covered. Instead, it encompasses every treatment that we offer.

Whether you have insurance or are receiving treatment under a direct dental plan, our office is highly adept in the administrative aspects of your dental care. We’ll file your insurance claim on your behalf, and if you receive treatment under a direct dental plan, then you won’t have to submit a claim at all.
